The Thane Vrindavan Kairali Cultural Association celebrated Onam with great enthusiasm last week. President M. R. Sudhakaran, Secretary P. K. Ramesan, and Treasurer B. Prasad, along with committee members, jointly lit the traditional lamp to inaugurate the festivities. The event commenced with a prayer by Siddhija Ramesh.

Under the leadership of Shalini Prasad, members of the women’s wing — Rajani Balakrishnan, Vanaja Sreekumar, Meera Jinachandran, Smita Menon, Jaya Vijayakumar, Swapna Ramachandran, Shilna Pragit, Ramya Ravikumar, and Vinita Anil — presented Kaikottikali and a traditional folk dance. Sasikumar Menon appeared as Mahabali, while K. R. J. Nair, Balakrishnan, Prasad, Mohan Menon, Suresh, and E. Ramachandran, under the leadership of K. M. Suresh, performed a fusion and farmers’ dance.

Songs were rendered by Anagha, Ramesh, Abhinav, Narayanan, Anila, Swati, Siddhija, and Adwaita, while Alissa Bibin and Asha Srikrishnan presented captivating dance performances. The celebration concluded with a sumptuous Onam feast served to all members and participants.
